The Heads of Mission of France, Germany and the United Kingdom (the „E3“) jointly met on September 22nd with the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Ryabkov, at their demand, to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue.

Through this meeting, the E3 showed once again that they remain fully committed to dialogue and diplomacy in order to safeguard the international non-proliferation regime in today’s challenging period. The E3 made it clear that Iran must fulfil its legal obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty and engage seriously in efforts to find a diplomatic solution.

The E3 also protested against the violation of Estonian airspace by Russian fighter jets last Friday and stressed NATO solidarity in the face of such unacceptable and aggressive behaviour.
